HJEMMEKLAR

I har mere, end I tror.

Privacy

There is no data to look after

This is not a promise to treat your information confidentially. It is that Hjemmeklar is built so it never reaches us. Here is exactly what that means — and what actually does leave the phone.

The app

What the Hjemmeklar app does

There is no account

No email, no password, no user ID. Your plan, address, contacts and PIN card are kept in the phone's own storage and stay there. The phone makes its own backup through iCloud or Google Drive — that happens without involving us, encrypted, and it is what lets the plan come with you when you switch phones.

Reminders come from the phone itself

The app can remind you to review your plan when the seasons change. The reminders are scheduled and triggered by the phone — there is no server sending them, and no list you are on. If you say no to notifications, the rest of the app works exactly as before.

What the app downloads

The app downloads two files from here: the current weather warnings and the item catalogue, so corrections to items and links reach you without a new version of the app. They are the same files for everyone, and nothing about you is sent with the request. Without a connection, the app uses what it got last time — the catalogue also ships with the app. The guides and the list of emergency services are built into the app and need no connection.

If you type in an address, the text is sent to the Danish Address Web API (DAWA) at Dataforsyningen to look the address up. That is the only time anything you have typed leaves the phone. The answer is stored only on the phone.

Your location stays on the phone

If you ask for the nearest police station, fire station or hospital, the app asks for permission to use the phone's location. The list of places is built into the app, so the distance is calculated on the phone — the coordinate is not sent anywhere. You can say no and instead pick one of your own addresses as the starting point.

When you follow a link

Sources, guides and product links open in the phone's browser, at whoever the link points to — DMI, Bolius, a shop. From there, their rules apply, not ours. We cannot see who taps what.

Links to sikro.dk carry a tag in the address that tells sikro.dk the visit came from the Hjemmeklar app, and from which screen. The tag is the same for everyone — it does not say who tapped.

You can delete everything

Under “Privatliv og data” (Privacy and data) in the app, a single button deletes everything: locations, plans, contacts, PIN card and the family agreement. Without an account, that is the deletion — there is nowhere else it is stored, and no one you have to ask to remove anything.

The website

What hjemmeklar.dk does

  • No cookies. That is also why there is no consent banner. There is nothing to consent to.
  • No analytics and no trackers. Not Google Analytics, not a pixel, not an embedded video.
  • Links to sikro.dk are tagged. The address tells sikro.dk that the visit came from hjemmeklar.dk, and where on the page the link was — not who clicked.
  • No JavaScript. The pages are plain HTML and CSS. This is enforced on every release — the build fails if a script slips in anyway.
  • The fonts are hosted here. Not at Google Fonts. A page telling you that we collect nothing should not send your IP address to a third party in the same breath.
  • No forms. There is nowhere on hjemmeklar.dk where you can write something to us — and no mailing list to be put on.

The site is hosted by Netlify, which serves it. Like any web server, it receives the request from your browser — that is how a page gets to you. We have not set up anything that collects that information and ties it to a person, and we have no statistics to look you up in.

Your rights

There is nothing to request access to

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct and delete the information anyone holds about you. We cannot give you that access, and the reason is the best one imaginable: we hold no information about you. There is no account to look up, no database to search and no ID that could tie anything together.

Should that change — and it is not the plan — it will say so here before it happens.

If you think this isn't true

Then we would like to know. Write to kontakt@hjemmeklar.dk. You can also complain to Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency.

Responsibility

We sell preparedness, not guarantees.

Hjemmeklar is a private supplement to public emergency preparedness and does not replace 112 or the municipal rescue services. If life or health is at risk: call 112.

Who is behind it

Jakob Majkilde

Hjemmeklar is made by one private individual. There is no company behind the app, no investors and no employees with access to anything — which is easy when there is nothing to have access to. More about who, and why the site looks the way it does (in Danish).
